BIOGRAPHY

Paula Evers is an intuitive painter who has worked as a visual artist since 1986. Although she had drawn and painted throughout her life, she decided in the second half of the 1980s to devote herself fully to painting. Since first presenting her work more publicly in 1994, it has been received with growing enthusiasm.

Evers works spontaneously and improvisationally, allowing colour, emotion, and the atmosphere of the moment to guide the painting process. The changing seasons, especially autumn, provide a rich source of inspiration. Her paintings express a strong affinity with earthy and natural tones, shaped through bold brushstrokes and forms.

Her oeuvre includes both fully abstract paintings and works that refer to reality. In the latter, indistinct human figures occupy loosely defined spaces. The human being and relationships between people are recurring themes. Her faceless, softly outlined figures invite viewers to wander through the paintings and form personal associations.
