Publications

Over thirty years, Gallery Alma Blou documented the local art scene in print — from artist monographs and exhibition catalogues to calendars, card sets and books. Each publication was a way to bring the artist closer to the public, to preserve what was shown on the walls, and to make Caribbean art accessible beyond the gallery walls. Together they form a printed archive of thirty years of visual culture on Curaçao.

Galleria di Artista series

The Galeria di Artista series was published between 2003 and 2021. Each booklet introduces one artist in depth — biography, work and exhibitions. The series was supported by the Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds and Maduro & Curiel’s Bank.

Kuartèt di Arte / Kunst kwartet

Arte ’99 — 2017

The Kunst Kwartet Curaçao — Kuartèt di Arte Kòrsou — is an educational card game introducing children to the visual arts of Curaçao. Developed in 2017 by Arte ’99, the game features local artists and was created as out-of-the-box teaching material for primary, special and secondary education — available in Papiamentu and Dutch, free to download via www.kunstkwartetcuracao.org.

The initiative was made possible with the support of Maduro & Curiel’s Bank, AFAS and the Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds Caribisch Gebied.
