BIOGRAPHY

Hortence Brouwn is a sculptor born in Suriname and based in Curaçao. The human body is the main theme of her work. In 1997 she started a bronze foundry, with the help of different people and organizations in Curacao.
The feelings of the human being come to be expressed in the movement and attitude of her sculptures. Feelings like sadness, happiness, fear and despair reveal themselves in the body language. Even when a person is seen from the back, his essence can be read.
